My overseas knowledge background, modern art preferences, and film aesthetic interests inspire me to explore human issues in the form of comedy; while the gender issues and public dilemmas of today's society prompt me to pay attention to the current situation of humans being disciplined and scrutinized. In terms of character creation, I refine and reconstruct my traits and integrate them into the common characteristics of elderly men, creating the two characters, Old Wang and Old Chen, who are very different in personality. The Chinese title of the film is "Little Dream," because something as trivial as an erection has become a worry and dream for the two old men, and the use of contrast andsarcasm techniques deepens the comedic colour. The English title of the film is "MAKE DICK GREAT AGAIN," borrowing a famous saying of President Trump, equating national development with personal sexual ability, using the extreme to express the minimal, and in the context of Trump's administration's tariff policy causing serious negative impact on the global economy, it highlights the satirical meaning even more.
Some groups often think of themselves as the beneficiaries and judges, but in fact, they are also constantly within the framework of discipline, and no one is exempt. This is the motivation for my creation. I want to depict the story of once dominant people, are now in a disadvantageous position, and are still constantly being scrutinized and judged, seeking breakthroughs and awakening, and calling for humans to break the shackles and sincerely accept themselves and the surrounding world. One of the screenwriters of the film is Man Yi, who is my frequent collaborator. Based on her identity as a woman and her keen insight, with her background in law and journalism, her experience studying abroad, and her practice as a contributor to a well-known magazine, she uses her pen as a weapon to call for respect for human values, to combat segregation and prejudice, and to break through conventions and discipline. The producer of the film, Jieni Tan, has a master's degree in film production from the Macau University of Science and Technology, with rich experience in production and filming, helping to professionalize and mature the entire film production process.
