Yinan WANG
Yinan Wang was born in Beijing and currently teaches at the Peck School of the Arts at the University of Wisconsin– Milwaukee. His filmmaking practice began with experimental ethnographic approaches grounded in observation and immersion and has continued to evolve since his relocation to the United States. His work explores identity, displacement, and belonging, while examining how personal lives are shaped by cultural, economic, and political forces. Moving through spaces where cultures meet, overlap, and collide, he uses humor, ritual, and silence to explore how memory, language, food, and migration shape our sense of home and continually transform cultural identity.
