Chiang Hsiu-chiung is a Taiwanese director and actress. She was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the 28th Golden Horse Awards for her role in *A Brighter Summer Day*. Following this, she worked behind the scenes in the film industry for many years, gradually embarking on her resolute path of cinematic creation. In 2008, the short drama *Ars Nova*, which she wrote and directed, garnered major awards including the Golden Horse Award, the Golden Harvest Award, and the Taipei Film Festival Award. Her television work *Ars Vivendi* won multiple international accolades, including the Best Television Movie award at the 2009 San Francisco International Film Festival. Her latest work is the documentary *Let the Wind Carry Me* (2009), which was nominated for Best Documentary at the 46th Golden Horse Awards and won both the Grand Prize and Best Documentary at the 12th Taipei Film Festival.
