With its lens focused squarely on the supply chain, the documentary follows cotton from cultivation and harvesting to textile production, garment manufacturing, and finally, export sales, offering a comprehensive look at the entirety of China's cotton industry. Spanning eight years in the making, the film dives deep into the lives of the diverse individuals whose fates are bound to this crop under the canopy of the cotton trade.
