Director‘s Statement:
The inspiration for this story comes from my perception of adolescence. I believe adolescence exists in a constant state of tension and restlessness. The pressures of school and family are long-standing and inescapable, while the outside world keeps intruding and unfolding before young people. Yet adolescents have not fully developed the judgment or agency to navigate these dangers and dilemmas.

What feels remarkable to me is that, within this overwhelming crowding of pressures, adolescents still possess a fierce vitality — a rapid urge to expand, to break through, and to ignore limitations. It is this force that allows them to breathe within suffocating environments, to keep surging forward through hardship, and eventually emerge from it.

Because of this, I want to tell a story about a teenager. The film takes place over the course of a single day surrounding a transfer-school admission interview. From early morning until late at night, the boy and his mother move through the city together. Throughout the day, the boy experiences the failure of the interview, the selfishness of his father, the cruelty of society, and his own helplessness, while trying to understand what it means to accept the people closest to him.
